For some unknown reason I have always been more interested in driving than riding. It started as a kid with a childrens horse magazine Villivarsa which I chose instead of the other alternative because Villivarsa had a lot trotting related articles! I took care of horses at a few trotting stables as a teenager and drove my first heat trainings at a race track at the age of 13... So off I went to Häme University of Applied Sciences and got the Bachelor degree in Equine studies in 2002. I have worked as a head master and teacher at Equine colleges etc. and besides as stable owner in Lohtaja, Finland since 2006. Since 2011 we have been giving riding- and driving lessons, ponyclubs etc. at our stable and are also Quality stable nominated by Equestrian Federation of Finland in autumn 2013.
Back to driving... In 2008 we bought our first Shetland pony for our son Aksel, as he was only 3 years old and I thought our standardbred trotters was a bit too big for him ;) With my trotter background it was natural for me to start driving the pony to keep it from becoming too fat. Soon we had two mares, a stallion, gelding, a few more mares, foals... and now after 10 years the stable is inhabited by 10 shettys and two Finnhorses. I have driven five different shettys in four different pair combinations and participated in breed show driving classes with single and pair. I have now also competed in combined driving both single and pair. I had the driving licence for trot races but never got into driving those in races ;)
For 2019 our goal is to compete with Shetland pair.

Well, you know, you can't do this alone, so everyone needs a team. He takes care of the vechicles, ponies if needed and in fact everything you ask for :D
